What are the installation methods for space structures?
The installation method for space structures should be determined comprehensively based on the type, stress, and structural characteristics of the structure, ensuring quality and safety while considering progress, economy, and on-site technical conditions.
The following methods can be used for the installation of space structures:
1. High-altitude assembly method: Suitable for various types of space structures assembled with full supports, especially suitable for structures with non-welded connections such as bolted connections and pin connections. Depending on the structural characteristics, cantilever assembly methods with fewer supports can be selected: inward expansion method (cantilever assembly from the side supports to the center) and outward expansion method (cantilever assembly from the center to the side supports).
2. Segment or block installation method: Suitable for space structures where the stiffness and stress state of the structure change little after segmentation. The size of the segments or blocks should be determined according to the lifting capacity of the lifting equipment.
3. Sliding method: Suitable for various space structures where parallel sliding rails can be installed, especially suitable for situations where construction must be carried out across (where supports or traveling cranes are not allowed under the roof structure to be installed) or where the site is narrow and lifting and transportation are inconvenient. When the spatial space frame structure has a large column grid or a long and narrow plan, the sliding frame method can be used for construction.
4. Integral hoisting method: Suitable for small and medium-sized space structures. During hoisting, the structure can be moved or rotated into position at high altitude.
5. Integral lifting method: Suitable for various space structures. After the structure is assembled as a whole on the ground, it is lifted to the design elevation and positioned.
6. Integral jacking method: Suitable for various space structures with few support points. After the structure is assembled as a whole on the ground, it is jacked to the design elevation and positioned.
