Mianyang Jiuzhou Gymnasium
Jiuzhou Gymnasium Roof in Mianyang became the focus of the media when it played an important role as an evacuation center and emergency command center during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake relief process.
The upper part of Jiuzhou Stadium is a steel structure roof, with four floor-to-ceiling steel structure arches as the main load-bearing structure, and three-dimensional or plane trusses as secondary structures between the arches, matched with the support system, which is novel and unique. The lower part adopts reinforced concrete frame-shear wall structure, without deformation joints, four stairwells are reinforced concrete tubes and composed of four different concentric circle layout forms of an oval plane.
The building with its unique structural design concept and advanced seismic fortification thinking, to ensure that it is still standing under the action of the earthquake, the main structure and support are not obvious damaged, only the local steel structure and envelope at the junction of slight collision damage.
